A landscape with a sense of arrival.
The project brief describes a multi-level outdoor setting that honors the home’s Spanish character while supporting an active, welcoming way of living. Each area is connected through material, planting, and clear transitions.
The front approach
Stucco entry pillars and Spanish-style lights establish a warm welcome from the street. Saltillo tile steps lead toward a winding path framed by Mediterranean planting, sculpted Little Ollie shrubs, and an Ann Magnolia. Terracotta pavers and contrasting Mexican beach-pebble bands give the driveway a distinctive pattern, with a motorized aluminum gate completing the entry.
A backyard made to gather
The backyard is planned around a pool and integrated spa, with an open lawn and a raised pergola platform as its social center. The pergola setting includes a custom outdoor kitchen, Saltillo tile counter, and relaxed seating. Decking, patterned pavers, and a tucked-away fireplace lounge create connected places to spend time outdoors.
Materials and planting
Evergreen screening, drought-tolerant planting, natural boulders, and flowering accent trees bring texture and privacy beneath the mature trees. The material palette also considers local fire-safety needs; final product specifications and ratings should be confirmed with the project team and supplier.
